What we optimize for
Clarity and accuracy, in that order. We write in plain English, define terms when we use them, and we would rather be boring and correct than exciting and wrong. Our readers are beginners making real decisions with real money, so we hold ourselves to a higher bar than typical crypto content.
How content is verified
- Durable facts — how blockchains work, what a key is, how proof of stake works — are cited to protocol and official documentation, with the date we checked.
- Time-sensitive details — fees, eligibility, product names, prices, tax rules — are checked on the official source the same day, and the URL and date are recorded in the page's Sources. If we can't verify a detail (for example, a site that blocks automated access), we do not state the number; we link the official page and tell you to verify it yourself.
- Anything we can't verify stays a draft. Pages with unverified claims are not published. There is no shortcut around this, even when it slows a page down.
Commercial details are re-verified on a schedule (monthly for fees and products, before each filing season for tax content, and immediately for any security correction). When a claim goes stale, the page is re-checked or taken back to draft.
Independence
Our rankings and recommendations are based on the published criteria on each page — never on commission size or a commercial relationship. Where a page mentions a company we might earn from, that is disclosed on the page (see our affiliate disclosure), and the criteria are stated so you can see exactly how we decided. We do not accept payment to rank a product higher, and we do not hide a product we don't recommend.
How content is produced, honestly
We use software and AI-assisted tools in drafting and editing. This is disclosed rather than hidden, because you deserve to know how your information is made. The assistance is a drafting aid, not a source of truth: every factual claim is checked against a primary or official source, every time-sensitive detail is verified and dated, and a human reviews the result before publication. The standard is the same whether a sentence was written by a person or a tool — it must be accurate, sourced, and honest.
What we never do
- State a fee, price, or eligibility rule we haven't verified on the official source.
- Publish a page that can't be fact-checked.
- Use placeholders, fake ratings, invented testimonials, or fabricated statistics.
- Claim that any asset, platform, or strategy is "safe," "guaranteed," or risk-free.
- Present educational content as financial, tax, or legal advice.
